Modelling a Bridge

In this lesson I was taught how to create a bridge. I extruded a cube for the base and then created another cube. I then gave it twelve sub-divisions in width, used the Bevel Tool and gave it four segments. I then went to animating mode, created a bend and rotated the line going through the middle of the cube. I then gave the cube a curve turning it into an arch. To create the detail on the base I moved verticies and used the extrude tool dragging the red and green boxes then dragging the blue arrow. Next I created a polygon and drew it over the top of the top left corner of the bridge in the reference. I then selected the side face and dragged it to increase the width of the polygon. Finally I copy and pasted the arch on both sides, deleted half of the facec on and used the Fill Tool.

Creating the bridge took a long time and had some complicating steps. When I used the bevel tool on the cube that was going to become the arch and extruded the faces in I had a lot of problems with the edges. I am glad I created the bridge because the detail on the base taught me new ways to extrude. At first I couldnt get it but after some time passed I cracked it. Extruding the base and drawing my own polygon was easy as I have had lots of practice. I am not going to use the bridge in my level but making it improved my skills. I had never made a bend in a cube before. The closest to that I got before this task was using the Bridge Tool.
